There is something about my imagination. Something expansive and wandering, a never-ending story. I live there so much of the time. I must say that I have often wondered if I am made for this world, this life of busy and commitment and haste. This very concrete maze we humans have built for ourselves.

When I paint, I enter the portal to my imagination. It pours over me like honey. It is warm. Full of light. Mysterious. Welcoming. On the perfect day in the studio, I remember almost nothing of the time a spent there. I only see the result on the easel. The rest is a secret.

"I've got a secret" is the purest expression of secret imagination. The round canvas is so freeing! Not a landscape. Not a portrait. An organic, moving thing. The moon and the planets. The sun. The stars. This painting is far more beautiful than I have managed to photograph. And it is the first time I have used red in years. An experience in the making.
